In addition to training workshops, the Instructional Technology and Design Office, in conjunction with the GSLIS Help Desk, have compiled tutorials and other resources to help you with creating webpages, navigating your GSLIS course spaces, and other activities you may encounter during your time at GSLIS. File Conversion

• Accessible Web Publishing Wizard for Microsoft Office - This tool allows you to create accessible web page versions of Powerpoint.  This software is available for UIUC students, faculty, and staff at a discounted rate through the CITES Software Webstore.
• dBpoweramp Music Converter - dBpoweramp software will allow you to convert Real Audio files (like the audio archive from live sessions) into mp3 or other formats.  You will need the Real Audio codec to do this conversion.
• Zamzar - This website provides free online file conversions.  A list of supported file types is available here.

Web Design Software

• SeaMonkey - SeaMonkey is an open source internet application suite that includes a browser, email, newsgroup, and chat clients, as well as a wysiwyg HTML editor.  SeaMonkey can be used on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux machines.  SeaMonkey is available on GSLIS domain machines.
• KompoZer - KompoZer is an open source wysiwyg HTML editor.  It can be used on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux machines.
• Adobe Dreamweaver - Dreamweaver is a powerful suite of web development tools.  It can be used on Windows or Macintosh machines.  You can order Dreamweaver from the UIUC Webstores at a discounted rate.
