Progressive Librarians GuildWelcome to the GSLIS chapter of the Progressive Librarians Guild! The purpose of PLG is to foster discussion and action related to librarianship and social
responsibility. We believe that the vital role of the library in a democratic society requires a

Happy Summer!PLG will be taking it easy for the summer term. Fall term commences on August 25. In the meantime, think about running for PLG offices. During the 2008-2009 academic year, the following positions will be open: president, vice president, treasurer, events coordinator, and information technology coordinator. New Library Service Models - UPDATENew Service Models Final Report for the University of Illinois Library has been released. One of the finalized proposals includes combining the Library and Information Science Library with the Communication Library. The combined libraries will be renamed the Media and Information Studies Library.You may still submit comments on the service models. Please review the final report and submit your comments!
