Community Credit/Non-degree StudentsGSLIS, in cooperation with the Office of Continuing Education, is pleased to be able to offer non-degree students an opportunity to take graduate level courses via the Academic Outreach Community Credit Program. Formal admission to the University is not necessary, but a bachelor's degree is required. UPDATE November 6, 2008 The LIST OF SPRING 2009 COURSES
open to community credit/non-degree students is now available.
If you are interested in taking a class next spring, please submit the
REQUEST TO ENROLL IN GSLIS COURSE(S) SPRING 2009 form no later than December 12.
Registration approvals will be sent out commencing November 10. NEW COMMUNITY CREDIT STUDENTS: If you misplace your approval email, please review this page for important information about taking a course at GSLIS http://www.lis.uiuc.edu/oc/programs/cpd/Community_Credit/impt_info.html Tuition for academic year 2008-2009 is $976 for two credit hours and $1952 for four credit hours. If you have questions regarding the community credit option, contact Marianne Steadley, Continuing Professional Development Program Director, steadley@illinois.edu, 217-244-2751. Note: If you're paying for a class out of your own pocket, don't forget to make use of the Lifelong Learning Tax Credit when you do your income tax at the end of the year. It allows you to take a tax credit for a portion of any money you spend on continuing education.
